Martin Brothers stoneware two-handled loving cup, dated 1892. Tapering cylindrical form, with sgraffito decoration depicting a dragon amid scrolling foliate designs. The underside is inscribed, “10-1892, R. W. Martin & Brothers, London & Southhall” with a Martin Ware label affixed. 5 7/8 in. H x 8 1/2 in. W.
PROVENANCE:
A Middle Tennessee estate.
CONDITION:
One approx. 1/2 in. shallow chip to the underside base edge, slightly visible on the lower edge, otherwise overall very good condition.
