Assembled grouping of Tennessee and Southern split oak baskets, some contemporary including one (1) buttocks basket attributed to Nelda Joan Merritt (Woodbury, TN); one (1) miniature buttocks basket by Ken & Kathleen Dalton (Coker Creek, TN) with the original tag; two (2) miniature buttocks baskets by Alvin & Trevle Wood (Murfreesboro, TN); a set of four (4) graduated miniature buttocks baskets; a group of seven (7) assorted miniature buttocks and carrying baskets and one (1) miniature coiled pine needle and twine basket. Large basket – 8″ H x 8 1/2″ D x 9 1/4″ W. Miniatures range in size from 1 1/4″ H to 3 1/4″ H. All baskets 20th century. Those listed with maker’s names, last quarter of the 20th century. Provenance: Nancy Walton Collection, Gatlinburg, TN. CONDITION: All baskets overall very good condition. A couple with light stains, uneven patina.
