Two (2) Mexican folk art retablos, all painted on tin.1st item: La Vendimia Mistica painting depicting Christ kneeling with vines originating from his body and arching overhead, with blood pouring from His wounds into a chalice and onto the pedestal below him, with lambs placed at the bottom to catch the blood in their mouths, mounted to a wood board. 14" H x 8 3/4" W. 2nd item. La Mano Poderosa painting depicting the stigmata of Saint Francis bleeding into a chalice with the Holy Family, Anna, and Joachim floating in the clouds arched overhead, all holding lilies. Unframed. 14" H x 9 7/8" W. Both items Late 19th/Early 20th Century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of James Lewis, Carthage, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: With some later inscriptions, flaking, and oxidation to edges and scattered throughout. 2nd item: Scattered oxidation throughout.
