Federal eglomise tabernacle mirror, giltwood gesso frame with beaded drops at cornice over a frieze with central molded shell, flanked by carved paterae, over a black reverse painted glass tablet painted with image of a spread-winged eagle holding a spear. Rectangular lower mirrored glass panel, flanked by rope turned stiles ending in waterleaf molding. 34-1/2" x 20". Provenance: A Gallatin, Tennessee estate. Condition: 1 missing drop, scattered wear and losses to eglomise and gilding, with some scattered areas of regilding. Mirror appears original.
