Chinese Yuan Dynasty ceramic green glaze pottery jar with cover. The bulbous body and conical lid with raised foliate and lotus petal decoration. 15" H (with lid) x 10 1/2" dia. 1279 – 1368 AD. This jar was part of a larger grouping of storage jars that were purchased in China that underwent Thermoluminescence Analysis in July 2004. This jar was not tested but was part of the larger lot that was purchased and excavated at the same time. Copy of report can be reviewed in photos. Provenance: Private Lenoir City, TN collection. Condition: Slight chipping to underside of top and top of jar. Overall slight losses to glaze throughout. Base underside with crack separation that may be a firing flaw. No other cracks or other major condition issues visible.
