3 Civil War related rare books. 1st item: The Retreat from Pulaski to Nashville, Tenn., an account by (U.S. Capt.) Levi T. Scofield (later a prominent Cleveland, OH architect and sculptor). Signed on the frontspiece by the author: "To Mr. John Coon with compliments of the writer Levi T. Scofield". Blue board cover with red, white blue and gilt Army of the Ohio decoration, gilt edges. H. C. Sherick & Co., Cincinnati, 1909. 67 pages with numerous black and white photos and illustrations of officers, battle scenes and landmarks, along with maps of the occupations of Columbia, Spring Hill and Franklin, Tennessee. 9-1/4" x 6-1/4". 2nd item: "The Privations of Private" by Marcus B. Toney, 1st edition, copyright 1905. Toney, of Lynchburg, VA., volunteered in Company B (Rock City Guards) and fought under Generals Lee and Jackson. 8" x 5-1/2". 133 pages. Printed for the Author, Nashville, Tenn. 1905. 3rd item: "Annals of the Army of the Cumberland", published Philadelphia by J.P. Lippincott & Co., 1863. 671 pages with numerous black and white illustrations and maps. Brown board covers with gilt lettering, 9" x 6".
