European Chinoiserie style needlework panel having a central river scene with dragon boat containing three female figures center, one enshrined, and two male figures rowing at the bow and the stern, all within muliticolored foliate border on a black ground. Housed in a Queen Anne style burl wood frame with carved shell crest. Sight: 40" H x 27" W. Framed: 54 1/2" H x 32 3/4" W. Needlework 19th century or earlier, frame early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with a few areas of pinprick losses, primarily noted on the right margin of the needlework.
