Mark Catesby (1682-1749), two hand colored engravings on laid paper, from "Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands," likely from the 1777 (2nd) edition. Both framed in later giltwood molded frames with velvet liners, unmatted. 1st print: Turdus (Pudding-Wife) and Alburnus (Carolina Whiting), Plate size 9-5/8" x 13-1/2", sight 13-1/2" x 17-1/2", framed 16" x 20". 2nd print: Unicornis (Bahama Unicorn Fish), plate size 10-1/4 x 14-3/4", sight 13-1/4" x 17-3/4", framed 16" x 20". Condition: Moderate foxing and toning.
