Early Kentucky walnut blanket chest, poplar secondary, one board top with molding surrounds having two incised chanels, satinwood diamond inlaid excutcheon, case and feet with exposed dovetails, interior till, ande shaped bracket feet. Appears to retain the original lock. 23-1/2" H x 42" W x 18-1/2" D. Southern, circa 1810. Provenance: Estate of Barbara Gipe, Kingsport, TN. CONDITION: Old refinish, overall general wear to surface. Replaced lid hinges.
