Alfred Morris (British, 19th century) large oil on canvas landscape, depicting a flock of sheep being watched over by a guard dog, stationed atop a boulder; a gray, ominious sky threatens a potential storm overhead. Elaborate giltwood frame, likely original, with laurel and acanthus moldings and wide rabbet edge. Signed lower left. Sight – 29 1/2" x 49 1/2". Framed – 41" x 61 1/2". CONDITION: Relined and cleaned; scattered specks of white paint drips to lower right quadrant, minor scratching lower left near bottom edge, scattered crazing. Overall good condition. Frame has some regilding and small losses.
