Collection of thirteen (13) antique snuff and matchboxes, including two (2) faux tortoiseshell boxes with silver inlay; one (1) Georgian mahogany puzzle box; one (1) lacquer box with floral decoration (possibly Russian); one (1) horn/hoof-shaped incised "Red Deer Hoof Killarney Lakes" with incised deer decoration; one (1) Georgian burlwood with bird's eye maple veneer top and exotic wood inlaid interior (possibly coromandel); one (1) treen urn-shaped box; one (1) gutta percha box in the shape of a book; one (1) carved in the shape of a shoe; one (1) treen egg-shaped box; one (1) La Bretonne box with silver inlay of stagecoach and dog; one (1) lacquer with silver inlay; and one (1) horn or solid wood. Widths range from 2" to 4". Most English, late 18th to early 20th centuries.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Judy and Pete Nebhut, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: Scattered chips and small losses, general wear and age related shrinkage cracks. Areas of missing silver wire on silver inlaid items.
