Thirteen (13) Ecuadorean Pre-Columbian pottery vessels and miscellaneous items. 1st item: La Tolita culture grey ware with white slip animal effigy pottery vessel having hollow elongated horned animal head and feet applied to one side of rounded body with flared rim, flat bottom. 4 5/8" H x 6 1/2" W x 3 7/8" D. 2nd item: Small brown slip on orange ware biconical pottery vessel with thick flat inverted lip, applied raised dot and line pattern around neck, seven pointed star painted in a darker slip to underside of rounded bottom. 3 5/8" H x 4 1/4" dia. 3rd item: Grey ware human effigy pottery vessel with two applied human figures to each side, their hands on the thick, flared lip, with applied geometric designs to the rounded body, flat bottom with partial raised base. 3 7/8" H x 5 3/4" W x 4 1/2" D. 4th item: Buff ware animal effigy figurine with fragment of a small vessel on the back on a four legged animal with a flat face and curved tail. 4" H x 3 3/4" W x 5 1/4" D. 5th item: Brown ware biconical pottery vessel, thick flared lip with two lugs, pointed base. 6 3/8" H x 5" dia. 6th item: Grey ware cylindrical vessel with partial flared lip, applied human figure bust to one side, belt decoration circumference of vessel, one foot to front of vessel, flat base. 9 3/8" H x 6 1/2" W x 3 3/4" D. 7th item: Grey ware animal effigy vessel, applied dog like face with bulging eyes, barred teeth, and round nose, four molded legs to sides of round body. 4 1/4" H x 3 1/4" W x 8" D. 8th item: Gray ware vessel fragment of the lower body of an animal with applied legs, round body. 3 3/4" H x 3 1/2" W x 6" D. 9th item: Grey ware with red slip conical shaped pottery fragment of a human or animal with round eyes, long nose, large ears, two arms to side, flat head, oblong hole to back of head. 2 3/4" H x 1 5/8" W x 1 1/2" D. 10th item: Grey ware seal roller with Greek key design to sides. 1 5/8" H x 1 1/2" dia. 11th item: Gray ware seal roller with geometric designs to sides. 2 5/8" H x 1 1/2" dia. 12th item: Bone fragment with incised geometric designs to front, one hole to back. 4 1/2" H x 1 1/2" W x 7/8" D. 13th item: Striated oval rock. 2" H x 2 5/8" W x 1 3/8" D. 1st-12th items labeled with museum accession numbers. Provenance: Property of the Hunter Museum of American Art, Chattanooga, TN. CONDITION: Majority of items in fragmentary condition with areas of loss, hairlines, areas of repair, firing flaws, etc. 1st-12th items labeled with museum accession numbers, some faded. 1st item: Break to side of vessel opposite from head, one horn possibly broken. 3rd item: Head of one figure is broken and included with item. Majority of base is not present. 4th item: Front left leg and tip of tail not present. 5th item: Overall very good condition. 6th item: One foot broken away. Majority of lip is not present. 7th item: Face broken and repaired. Majority of back of vessel is not present. Two broken pieces included with item. 8th item: Head is not present. Body broken and repaired. both left legs are not present.
