Two (2) Walter Ronald Locke (Florida/Massachusetts, 1883-1949) etchings depicting Florida scenes, published by Associated American Artists, New York. 1st item: Etching on paper titled "'Patio' Don Toldeo House, St. Augustine. Fla.," depicting the exterior of the historic Don Toledo House in Saint Augustine, Florida. Titled, in pencil, lower left below plate, signed and dated "W.R Locke '37," in pencil, lower right below plate. 2nd item: Etching on BLK Rivers paper titled "'Anclote Light' Fla," depicting the Anclote Key Lighthouse in Pinellas County, Florida surrounded by palm trees and thatched roof huts. Titled, in pencil, lower left below plate, signed "W. R. Locke," in pencil, lower right below plate. Both items housed in mats with Associated American Artists artist information labels and typed paper labels, en verso. Plates ranging in size from 9 1/4" H x 11 1/2" W to 12 1/2" H x 8 1/2" W. Sheets ranging in size from 12" H x 16 1/4" W to 16" H x 11 5/8" W. Mats ranging in size from 14 1/8" H x 18 1/8" W to 18 1/8" H x 14" W.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, TN.
CONDITION: Both items in overall good condition with toning, few minute foxing spots. Indentations and rust stains from paper clips, primarily visible en verso. Traces of old paper tape from former hinge mounting, largest 1/2" x 5/8", top left and right corners of sheets.
