European school oil on board farm scene, most likely French, depicting a young maiden seated with a foal, horse, sheep and cows and a thatched roof structure in the background. Housed in a carved gilt frame. Sight – 11 5/8" H x 14 1/4" W. 15 1/4" H x 18" W. 19th century. Condition: Some cracquelure to paint. Varnish applied more recently. Some cracking and paint touch-up evident to frame.
