Vintage Persian Kashan meditation area rug, wool on cotton, tree of life pattern with two elephants near base, two pair antelopes, pomegranates in trees, birds in primary border. Navy field with secondary colors of maroon, rust, apricot, gold, greens, taupe, ivory, rose, gold and blues. 4'6" W x 7'1" L. c. 1930. Provenance: Collection purchased from K. A. Menendian Rug Gallery, Columbus, Ohio, 1920-1940, and descended in family of present owner. CONDITION: Areas of low pile in navy ground near one end, Some corrosion to brown wool. Low fringe.
