Group of four (4) framed Chinese silk embroideries, including Rank Badge. 1st item: First Degree Mandarin Square, silk embroidery badge of crane or phoenix amongst clouds and bats and sun. Thread colors of ivory, blues, red, cream, purple and gold. Panel – 10-3/4"H x 12 W. Gilt frame – 15-1/2" H x 15-3/8" W. Late 19th to early 20th century. 2nd item: Silk embroidery badge in Forbidden Stitch, depicting a phoenix on rock amongst flowers with two bats flying above and two butterflies at left and right. Beige silk ground, thread colors of ivory, turquoise, green brown and taupe. Panel – 9-1/4" H x 12-1/4" W. Gilt frame – 14-1/4" H x 16-1/4" W. Early 19th century. 3rd item: Silk embroidery panel all in Forbidden Stitches of cascading floral spray with grasshoppers and beetles. Cream silk ground, thread colors of greens, blues, rust, beige and browns. Panel – 20" H x 7-1/2" W. Black frame – 30" H x 16-1/2" W. Late 19th/early 20th century. 4th item: Large silk embroidery panel including Forbidden Stitches and metal disc decorations, with central round medallion with floral spray, framed by ascending trefoils of images including bats, flowers, figures in garden setting and landscape border. Panel – 24-1/4" H x 23-1/4 W. Carved frame – 27" H x 26" W. Late 19th century. CONDITION: 1st item: Color run to red threads. 2nd item: Fading and some discoloration, fraying to border fabric. 3rd item: Some scattered discoloration and one 1/16" hole. 4th item: Overall good condition with some light fading/discoloration and wrinkling.
