Each plaque depicts two figures attired in traditional clothing in a pastoral landscape with Athenian pottery and still-life details in the foreground. Each stamped en verso "K / 380" and one inscribed in German "Stehenk Psyche../Schafer" en verso, possibly describing the Greek mythological figure of Psyche, depicted standing in the image. Both housed in giltwood frames with classical decoration and green felt mats. Plaques: 9 3/4" H x 7" W. Frames: 16 1/4" H x 13 1/2" W. Likely Austrian, late 19th/ early 20th century.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with some wear to edges, no visible retouching. Overall losses to felt mats.
