Two (2) large Italian ceramic chargers having polychrome decoration and central Neoclassical mythological scenes, including one (1) Majolica Istoriato charger with goddesses and a putto seated in the clouds witnessing an event down below surrounded by grotesques, foliate swags, griffins, and other stylized mythological beasts (24" dia,); and one (1) charger having the goddess Diana with her companions and dogs hunting a buck surrounded by putti amid rocaille, shell, and foliate forms (24 3/8" dia.). Both items early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both chargers with minute scattered wear to glaze, primarily to edges. Majolica charger with fine craquelure throughout.
