Southern Sheraton chest of drawers. Cherry primary, poplar secondary wood. Rectangular overhanging top on a square case with reeded pilasters. 4 graduated drawers with cockbeaded edges, dovetailed construction, brass pulls, brass keyhole escutcheons, and locks. Shaped skirt with four turned feet. 43" H x 40 1/2" W x 19 1/4" D. Southern – possibly Middle Tennessee, second quarter 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Hunter Kay, Franklin, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Good overall condition. Older surface refinish. Light surface scratches, dings and dents. Worn drawer runners, a few drawer sides built up, replaced pulls.
