Three (3) folk art carvings including Tennessee. 1st-2nd items: Charles Morgan (Tennessee, 1935-2006) carved and polychrome painted spotted bird dog with leather collar and a white horse with dark tail and mane, each affixed to stained wood base. Dog base signed CHARLES MORGAN BAXTER TENN in pencil. Horse base stamped MADE BY CHARLES MORGAN GAINESBORO TENN. Dog – 7" H x 2" W x 12" D. Horse – 8" H x 2 1/4" W x 8 1/2" D. Both mid 20th century. 3rd item: Carved miniature marionette of a smiling man with nailed and pegged articulated joints, unsigned, 12" H. Late 19th/early 20th century. Found in Washington County, TN. CONDITION: Dog: Smudges to nose, possibly as made. Horse: Light craquelure to paint, tiny chip to 1 ear. Marionette: Small area of paper residue adhered to chest, small pen mark or stain to chest; foot joint repaired with a toothpick; overall wear and some grime.
