Meissen porcelain figural group depicting the Greek god of love, Eros or Cupid, with the mortal princess Psyche, both draped with a trailing floral garland. Meissen blue crossed swords mark and incised number/letter mark to the underside. German, late 19th to early 20th century. The figurine fits into an optional accompanying gilt brass electric lampstand with a cream silk umbrella-style shade. Figure: 11 in. H x 6 1/4 in. W. Lamp base: 26 1/4 in. H x 14 in. W.
CONDITION:
Figure in overall good condition with some scattered fleabites to Psyche’s headress, with scattered fleabites to the back of the garland. Very slight fleabite to one wing of Eros. Oxidation to the lamp base and losses to the lamp shade fringe. Lamp not tested for functionality, rewiring recommended.
