Pair of large Chinese Rose Medallion porcelain vases or urns having ruffled rims, now mounted as lamps. Both with polychrome enamel vignettes of court and landscape scenes, with birds, butterflies, and flowers, and gilt highlights throughout. Each urn additionally with gilt figural chilong dragon decoration to the upper shoulders and opposing foo dog handles. Mounted onto hardwood round stands with removable brass lighting hardware. 18 1/2" H. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of David Caldwell, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Urns are not drilled but are affixed to wooden bases with wax or putty; no attempt has been made to remove). One urn with a couple of minor minor fleabites to two figural dragons, otherwise both overall very good condition. One urn with minute fleabite to base. Wiring not tested for funtionality.
