1ST ITEM: Wood and composition carved and giltwood eagle, fully modeled, probably an ornament or finial salvaged from another piece, mounted on a new square wood base. Overall height 8 1/2". Probably early 19th century. 2ND ITEM: Folk art watercolor depicting Lady Liberty with horn, four gilt stars (one in each corner). Watercolor on paper with gilt highlights. Unsigned. Antique giltwood molded frame. 6" x 6" sight, 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" framed. 19th century. Provenance: estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: 1ST ITEM: Overall good condition, minor chip to gilding on one wing. 2ND ITEM: All over toning, light foxing near edges, losses to gilt frame, image coming loose from frame.
