Persian Qajar lacquer box, likely Persian, with a sliding cover having figural landscape decoration including a maiden standing beneath a flowering tree feeding a caged bird to the top, portraits and figures engaging in various activities to the sides. Gilt foliate decoration to the base and the inner tray. 1" H x 8 1/2" W x 1 1/2" D. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Edward Laudermilk, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Minor scattered wear to lacquer, including craquelure, primarily at edges of lid. Minor wear to gilt on edges of inner tray. Slight scattered age splits.
