1st item: Asian tortoiseshell chopsticks and knife holder with bone rim, pair of chopsticks, and pair of toothpicks; fabric strap attached to chased metal band; and wooden-handled knife. 12 1/8" L. Late 19th/early 20th century. 2nd-3rd items: Two (2) European tortoiseshell miniature items, including one (1) lute with mother of pearl and bone inlays (5 1/8" H x 3 1/2" W x 1 1/8" D) and one (1) trinket box with ebonized rims (2 3/8" H x 4" W x 3" D). Early to mid 20th century.
CONDITION: 1st item: Scattered minor hairlines to tortoiseshell, largest 1" L. Fabric strap with discoloration, fraying, and losses to threads throughout. 2nd-3rd items: Lute with scattered losses to mother of pearl inlay and the head of instrument, largest measuring 1 3/8" x 1/2". Box with age split to wooden bottom measuring 4"; each side and top panel has two plugged holes that likely originally secured decorative elements or handles.
