After Pierre Charles-Eugene Delpech (France, 20th Century) Greek-style Parian Bisque porcelain bust portrait copy after the Apollo Belvedere original Hellenistic Roman marble sculpture. The bust is mounted to a round pedestal with rim stamped "Art. Union of London, 1861/ Published February 1, 1861". Signed en verso "C. Delpech", and stamped "(REDI)"/ B.L.W.A.M" below. 13 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W x 6" D. Note: The original Roman sculpture titled "The Apollo Belvedere" C. 120-140 AD is currently housed in the Vatican Museums in the Vatican City, Italy.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Edward Laudermilk, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: One minor flaw in the making to the right shoulder, and wear to inscription en verso. otherwise in very good condition.
