Mexican Folk Art body "Animal" mask used for animal dances. Alligator form brightly colored, with horns and extended tongue. Worn around waist during Animal Dances. Some losses, damage to tongue, breaks and structural weakness to a couple of legs. (72" H X 31" W X 22" D). 20th century. Oaxaca region. Deaccessioned by Knoxville Museum of Art to benefit the acquisitions fund.
