Korean mother of pearl inlaid display cabinet or etagere, created for the Japanese market, comprised of a combination of open display shelves, enclosed compartments and drawers. Mother of Pearl inlaid landscape, foliate and precious object decoration throughout. 53 1/2" H x 37 1/2" W x 14 1/4" D. Circa 1825-1875. Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. CONDITION: One lower compartment door not attached. Overall general wear, losses to base inlay, especially to sides.
