Chinese carved white jade and silver hand mirror, with pierced, high relief dragon and eel decoration to handle and incised, low relief decoration of an elephant to back of glass. Underside of handle is silver, engraved with floral decoration and flanked by 2 shou symbols. 9" L. Provenance: The collection/estate of Mr. and Mrs. W. Jeter Eason, Memphis, by descent to present consignor. CONDITION: Considerable buildup of grime in carved crevices. 1" glass crack and small losses to silvering of mirror (behind glass).
