1st item: Large Chinese Export Armorial porcelain dish or platter, oval with shallow recessed center having a coat of arms depicting a tree with shell, cornucopia surround, and a banner below reading "Magis dulcis quam flubimia" (More sweet than the river.) The coat of arms is surrounded by floral sprays and fruit; the shaped border having foliate vignettes and scrolling enameled decoration. Outer body with gilt bamboo and floral decoration. 2 1/4" H x 12 1/2" H x 15" W. 2nd item: Chinese export porcelain punch bowl, the center depicting a well dressed woman seated upon a flowering rock with two lambs nearby and a gilt and red chain border to the rim; the exterior decorated with figures in a landscape engaged in various activities and vignettes of birds. 4" H x 10 1/8" dia. Both items late 18th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville, Tennessee estate.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with losses and use wear to glaze, gilt and enameled decoration. 2nd item: 3 faint hairlines emanating from rim to the center, all approx. 3" L, and some discoloration to rim.
