Two pieces Baltimore Repousse Floral Pattern Silver. 1st item: Coffee Pot with flower finial, C scroll handle, and acanthus overlay covered spout, stamped 920/1000 Sterling with rubbed hallmark, likely S. Kirk & Son or another Baltimore maker, 9 1/2"H. 2nd item: S. Kirk & Son Repousse pattern cheese scoop, 8 3/4"L. Both pieces c. 1885. Total weight – 20.39 Oz Troy.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection, by descent in the family of Bazil and Lelia Montague Gordon of Baltimore (1860-1901). Gordon was a prominent politician and businessman, serving in the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Maryland Trust Company. His grandfather, Bazil B. Gordon, acquired the family home, Wakefield Manor Farm, in 1822, and became known as the first man to earn a million dollar cash sale of tobacco.
CONDITION: Some cracking to insulators on pot, otherwise both pieces very good condition, no monograms.
