Brother Mel Meyer (American/Tennessee, 1928-2013) steel wall sculpture, "The Last Supper," signed lower right. 22"H x 19 1/2". Biography: Brother Mel Meyer was a self taught painter and sculptor. Born in Florissant, MO in 1928, he joined the Catholic order of the Marianist monks at the age of 19, before turning his interests toward the arts. He considered his lifelong involvement with the Church to have determined his career as an artist. He was discovered in St. Louis by Nashville gallerist Anne Brown, who helped bring his work to a wider audience.
CONDITION: Light scratching and oxidation, overall very good condition.
