Isaac Soyer (New York/Russian Federation, 1907-1981) oil on canvas portrait painting depicting a dark haired female in profile, attired in a white collared shirt and black skirt and holding a rolled red bundle beneath her right arm with both hands clasped. Signed lower left in red "Isaac Soyer". Housed in a carved sponge painted muticolor wood frame. Sight: 27 1/2" H x 14 3/8" W. Framed: 34" H x 21" W.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned from the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.
CONDITION: Painting with faint craquelure noted to right side of canvas that does not penetrate through the surface, otherwise overall good condition. Frame with minor scattered abrasions and losses.
