Southwest Indian baskets, human figural designs. 1st item – Early Papago basket shaped in the form of a male human with darker weavers outlining hair, face, jacket and shoes. 12" height. Early 20th century. 2nd item – small Southwestern woven basket with four human effigy inlays on a dark brown background, four small handles. 2 3/4" height. Late 19th/Early 20th century. Provenance: Descendants of the estate of Madge Hardin Walters, early 20th century collector and dealer of Native American and author of Early Days and Indian Ways, Westernlore Press, 1956. Condition: 1st item – Overall excellent condition for age with overall light grime from age. 2nd item – Overall excellent condition with light grime and wear commensurate for age.
