Two (2) American Scenic Watercolor Paintings. 1st item: Alexander B. Trowbridge (Florida/Michigan, 1868-1950) watercolor on paper landscape painting titled "…ight at the Convent Plaza, Taxco" depicting a plaza with one wall of the Ex Convent of San Bernardino de Siena visible on the left, a copse of trees on the right, with a green landscape below a cloudy sky, background. Signed and dated "A. B. Trowbridge '34" lower right. Paper label with partial title, artist's name, and date "1934" taped to back of frame. Matted and housed under glass in a wooden frame. Sight – 13 1/4" H x 20 1/2" W. Framed – 25 1/4" H x 31" W. Early 20th century. Note: Purchased from Monty Young Antiques, 1998. 2nd item: American watercolor on paper landscape painting depicting a tranquil lake in a country setting, a bridge and trees in the middle ground, with the steeple of a church visible in the background. Unsigned. Marshall Field & Company, Chicago, Il paper label with illegible pencil inscription dated "1925", en verso. Double matted and housed under glass in a wooden frame. Sight – 16 1/2" H x 21 1/4" W. Framed – 24 1/4" H x 29" W. Early 20th century. Note: Purchased from American Classical Antiques, Nashville, TN; sold by Marshall Field & Co., circa 1925. CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with foxing spots visible in the sky quadrant. Not examined outside of frame. 2nd item: Overall good condition with toning, few minute scattered foxing spots. Not examined outside of frame. Ink mark top right of frame.
