Two (2) Homer Green (Tennessee, 1910-2002) outsider/folk art carved figural items. 1st item: Caved and painted bear or critter with black, white, pale yellow, brown and blue paint decoration and inset glass eyes. 20″ H x 44″ W x 12 1/4″ D. 2nd item: Carved wood and polychromed standing bird with detached wings, all in colorful green, black, red, whites, and burgundy paint. Unsigned. 23″H x 6″W (w/out wings) x 43″D.
PROVENANCE: Property of The Arts Center of Cannon County, Woodbury, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with natural shrinkage to wood, light overall wear. left rear leg not flush with body. 2nd item: Overall fair condition. Shrinkage cracks to timber. Wings broken off from body. Beak separated at joint. Extensive losses to paint. Possibly missing other components such as a base.
