Framed Chinese silk embroidered vertical rectangular panel, depicting images of bats and chrysanthemums to the top and bottom with a central image of butterflies and flowers, on a peach ground, surrounded by woven fabric borders and mounted to a black fabric backing. Housed under glass in a wooden frame. Sight: 66 3/4" H x 15 1/4" W. Framed: 68 3/4" H x 17 1/4" W. Qing Dynasty, late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with varying degrees of fading, staining, fraying, areas of loss, largest 3 3/4", primarily to edges of panel and woven borders. Not examined outside of frame.
