French mahogany and burlwood tantalus or portable liqueur cabinet, hinged front cover with brass shield form escutcheon and brass shield form engraved medallion to the top. L. Boutigny, Passages Des Princes (Paris) retailer label to the interior. Top and sides open to reveal a 2-tiered removable carved wooden fitted case with brass metal handle. Contains 2 bottles (with stoppers) and 12 cordials, eight with gilt decoration, four not original. Case fitted for 16 cordials. Bottles – 8" H. Cordials – 3 1/2" H. Case – 9 3/4" H x 12 3/4" W x 9 1/2" D. Provenance: Private Murfreesboro, TN collection, descended in the Maney Family of Oaklands Mansion in Murfreesboro. CONDITION: 4 cordials missing. Vertical shrinkage crack to top of case. Overall general wear.
