1st item: Chinese hardstone and wood table screen on stand, the screen with applied hardstone decoration depicting three scholars surrounding a young man offering a peach. Housed in a custom stand with inlaid flowering branch decoration. 23" H x 15 1/2" W x 8" D. Late 19th/early 20th century. 2nd item: Chinese rectangular embroidery panel depicting a processional scene with human figures and horses or camels in a landscape setting, surrounding two noblemen meeting in a pavilion in the center. Rendered in silk and metallic thread and applied beads on a red ground, enclosed on three sides by black and floral embroidered borders with small round metal discs and silk netting and tassels along the bottom, all on a red silk backing. 26 " H (including tassels) x 86 1/2" W. Hanging cord with black Chinese characters and faint Chinese ink stamp, en verso. Late 19th/early 20th century. 3rd item: Tibetan Thangka, watercolor, gouache, and gilt on paper depicting a central mandala consisting of figures, cloud motifs, and deity figures. Border features a landscape scene with deity figures instructing disciples, equestrian figures fighting with swords on a cloud, and additional figures amid clouds to the top, all surrounded by red edging. Lyzon Gallery, Nashville, TN label en verso. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 20 3/4" H x 16 1/4" W. Framed: 24" H X 19 1/2" W. 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Mary Ann Denney, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Some wood shrinkage to screen, and minor wear and some seam separation to screen frame. Wear, minor losses and some glue repairs to stand. 2nd item: Overall fraying, staining, losses to applied beads, metal discs, and threads, fading. 3rd item: Overall good condition with minor abrasions, waviness to paper.
