Grouping of three (3) pair of Indian moccasins including two pair of Plains Indian and one pair of Navajo moccasins. 1st item – Navajo pair of leather moccasins with silver buttons with incised radiating lines and four (4) spare Navajo silver buttons. 9 3/8" length. Late 19th/early 20th century. 2nd and 3rd items – Two (2) pairs of beaded Plains Indian mocassins included a floral beaded pair of moccasins and a high top pair of moccasins with floral beaded designs on the front of the moccasins and on the ankle area. 8 1/2" – 9 1/2" length. Late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: Descendants of the estate of Madge Hardin Walters, early 20th century collector and dealer of Native American and author of Early Days and Indian Ways, Westernlore Press, 1956. Condition: 1st item – overall very good condition with expected wear and light soiling. 2nd & 3rd item – soiling and staining to leather, bead loss mainly confined to ankle fringe of high top pair.
