Two (2) Asian porcelain figures. 1st item: Chinese blanc de chine porcelain figure depicting Guanyin (Kuan Yin), the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Unmarked. Fitted with a conforming carved hardwood stand. 8 1/2" H. 2nd item: Japanese Satsuma earthenware figure depicting Kannon, the Bodhisattva of Mercy and Compassion, seated and holding a lotus blossom. Red six character mark to the base together with red seal. 7 1/4" H. Both items Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall very good condition. 2nd item: One very slight fleabite to front left base, overall craquelure to the glaze.
