19th century English sampler comprised of wool embroidery with a variety of animals including an elephant, rooster, horse, dog, butterfly and bird, figures including an acrobat, initials and various types of flowers. Inscription on the reverse reads "Margaret B. McEwan, January 19, 1870". Sight: 23 1/2" H x 23 3/8" W. Framed: 27" H x 27" W. Condition: Sampler appears to be laid down on board.
