Grouping of Plains Indian items including an Indian War club, beaded knife sheath, and beaded fetish. 1st item – Plains Indian war club with catlinite hardstone double pointed head, wooden shaft wrapped with leather and stitched with sinew, horse hair wrapped at the end of the shaft. 20 1/2″ length. Late 19th century. 2nd item – Plains Indian beaded leather knife sheath, possibly Sioux, leather beaded fringe. 7 1/8″ length. Late 19th century. 3rd item – Beaded Indian umbilical fetish with beaded and leather fringe. 4″ length (not including fringe). Late 19th century. Provenance: Descendants of the estate of Madge Hardin Walters, early 20th century collector and dealer of Native American and author of Early Days and Indian Ways, Westernlore Press, 1956. Condition: 1st item – some horse hair detached from club. 2nd item – knife sheath with loose leather fringe. 3rd item – overall very good condition.
