Susan Kliewer (Arizona, b. 1940) patinated bronze, full-length standing figural sculpture titled "Little Crow Cowboy" depicting a standing figure wearing a wide-brimmed hat with feather, braided hair, full length chaps, gloves, and boots standing with arms to the sides, signed, dated, and numbered "Susan Kliewer / (copyright) 2000 / 34/45". Raised upon a oval fitted natural walnut wood swivel base with attached metal placard indicating title and artist. Includes certificate of authenticity from the studio of Susan L. Kliewer. Overall with stand: 16.5" H x 7" W x 6.5" D" dia. Weight: 11 lbs. Note: The original Mountain Trails Galleries receipt, COA, and additional documentation is available to the winning bidder. Artist biography: Born and raised in southern California, Susan Kliewer prepared sculptures for bronze casting at a foundry for many Arizona sculptors such as John Hampton, Joe Beeler, and Buck McCain. In 1988, she began creating her own sculptures and won the People's Choice Award in 1991 at the National Sculpture Walk in Sedona, Arizona. Her work depicts the Navajo people whom she has lived beside and been inspired by for the past forty years.
