Lot of seven Asian snuff bottles, including five intaglio carved ivory bottles with varying scenes front and back: Confucius or scholar figure; rat, dragon, foo lions, landscape boulder scenes, etc. 6th bottle has relief carved mother and child scene on front, with signed landscape scene en verso. 7th snuff bottle appears to be highly polished horn with front ivory facing decorated with scene of eagle in tree; signed. Heights range from 2" to 2 5/8". Circa 1900 or earlier. Note: This lot contains animal or plant material that may be restricted under federal, state, and/or local law. Bidders should check all applicable government wildlife restrictions prior to placing a bid. The buyer will be solely responsible for obtaining any necessary license or permits applicable to the sale or transport of the object. Please note that the bidders in New Jersey may not bid on any lots containing elephant ivory, mammoth ivory, or rhinoceros horn.
