Model 1836 Robert Johnson government contract single-shot pistol, converted to percussion, .54 caliber. Lock plate marked "US R. Johnson Midd N Conn 1840", breech of barrel marked "J C B/P". Walnut stock, iron furniture and mountings, round barrel, proper ramrod, type 3 conversion (nipple and barrel). Barrel length – 8 1/2". Overall length – 14". Mid 19th century. Provenance: the collection of Benjamin Dysart, Brentwood, Tennessee. CONDITION: Action OK. Stock missing most of varnish. Iron furniture and mountings with dark patina. Proper ramrod. Type 3 conversion (nipple and barrel).
