Two (2) Chinese silk embroidered textiles including: one (1) rectangular silk panel comprised of a cream ground center decorated with four pairs of birds, including chickens, all perched upon flowering branches or trees with butterflies throughout and a dark ground border with floral and butterfly decoration (26″ H x 13 3/4″ W), and one (1) small square textile with chrysanthemum, flower and bat decoration on a red silk ground (12 5/8″ H x 10 1/2″ W). Both late Qing/Early Republic period.
CONDITION: 1st textile in overall good condition with light wear, grime and some fading. 2nd textile with some scattered fading, losses and chattering to silk.
