Two (2) Chinese scroll paintings of watercolor, ink, and gouache, including one (1) depicting three female figures seated at a table and drinking tea in a small structure surrounded by snow covered trees, a solitary female figure standing outside; and one (1) depicting several children playing a game in a garden setting. Both with rows of black Chinese characters and red seal marks, top left. Both with handwritten labels with Chinese characters, en verso and mounted on beige silk brocade with laid paper backing. Ranging in size from 74" H x 34 1/2" W to 75 1/2" H x 32 1/2" W. Early 20th century, possibly Republic period.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of David B. Person, Holly Springs, Mississippi.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with toning/acid burn, scattered foxing spots, areas of fraying, and creases to surface of paintings and silk. Areas of insect damage, largest 1/4", to top edges of silk.
