George III Neoclassical Inlaid Mahogany Chest of Drawers, rectangular top over a tall frieze, inlaid with bands of shaded arrows, forming two panels with mastic vine inlay and pitch blossoms and three panels with diamond inlay, two short drawers over three long drawers, all drawers having cockbeading, shield shaped escutcheons, and later, Aesthetic Movement pulls. The dovetailed drawers are flanked by canted corners with reeded edges, bordered at top and bottom by inlay-banded squares with X form central inlay over a panel with diamond and oval inlay. Tri lobed shaped skirt with flaring French feet. Plain sides. Mahogany and pine secondary woods. 47"H x 48"W x 21 3/4"D. Likely English or Scottish, early 19th century. Condition: Some locks missing. Minor inlay repair to upper right stile, repair to veneer on edge of tri lobed skirt, tip of front right foot. Repair to rear foot. Top molding with warpage and separations to case.
