Civil War era Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver, .31 caliber, serial number 219833, all visible serial numbers matching. Top of barrel marked "Address Col. Sam Colt New-York U.S. America", cylinder marked "Colt's Patent No. 19833". Walnut stocks, octagonal barrel, brass trigger guard and back strap, iron mounted with engraved stage coach hold up scene on cylinder, cylinder pins present, checkered hammer, standard sights, loading lever. Includes a leather "Slim Jim" flap style holster, tab through retainer. Barrel length – 4". Overall length – 9". Holster – 11" H x 4 1/2" W x 1 1/2" D. Serial number corresponds to year 1862. Provenance: the collection of Benjamin Dysart, Brentwood, Tennessee. CONDITION: Action is stiff. Engraving on cylinder very clear. Stocks with 60% varnish present. Traces of silver in protected areas on trigger guard. Balance, a pleasing mustard yellow patina. All screws original. Cylinder pins present. Plug hole missing from the bottom of holster, all sewn. Gun form fitted to holster.
